Welcome to the Metro Jackson Alumni website, where we represent the best alumni chapter
for Alcorn State University. We are located in the heart of the capital city of Jackson,
Mississippi. This chapter boasts one of the largest memberships in the state and nationwide
and I welcome you on behalf of the chapter.
We are dedicated to Academic Excellence and promoting the history and culture of all
HBCUs throughout the nation. The members of this chapter come from a various array of
positions throughout the city. Members include a State representative, a Jackson Public
Schools board member, which is the largest school district in the state of Mississippi,
attorneys, law enforcement officials and news media.
This chapter is not only dedicated to giving back to our alma mata but we also work in the
community. Such programs include the Book Buddy Program at Raines Elementary, the
Community Nursing Home and the Ronald McDonald House, all in the city of Jackson,
Mississippi.
In June we host a chapter picnic to reclaim members and to fellowship with each other;
December is the month of our annual Christmas Party; on the 1st Friday of the month we
network at different restaurants; and our chapter meetings are held the first Thursday of
each month (with the exception of June & July).
There is no greater alumni to be a part of than the Metro Jackson Alumni Chapter. Each
member adds their own special gifts and talents for the betterment of the body. As the song
goes from the Sister Sledge, in the Metro Jackson Alumni Chapter- WE ARE FAMILY!
So I encourage you all to become an active part of your alumni chapters.
There is no greater love that can be shown than what is shown from Alcorn State University
and its faculty and staff. Lastly, there is no greater honor than being an ALCORN BRAVE!
